Well I might be bias, π€ you should never cheap out on an Electrician. I have had to fix, DIY, and pretend electrician work to many times to count, that has caused damage and in one case a fire.

This is a BIG L video to post going into 2025.
I get what you’re saying, but 9 times out of 10, the dealership is there to always scam you. And just from personal experience alone, they are the ones that do a shitty job on hopes of you bringing your car back for even more money. And they are the ones that cost an arm, a leg, kidney, and an unborn child.
Seriously, they probably wanted to replace the entire harness for $2500. I get a lot of these types of jobs in and when iβm done with them the customers never come back for the same issue. In fact, we still see them come back happily for other services.
Get car savvy yourself, if possible, and if you feel comfortable enough doing the repairs yourself, you save yourself even more money. Obviously, this is dependent on many situational factors.
