I’ve seen my dad constantly do lottery and have calculated how much he could have gotten if he just saved the money in an HYSA…so no I’m never doing lottery of any sort 😅

    • @VMYeahVN says:

Considering lottery tickets cost a whopping 2 dollars. No amount of money he could spend on lottery tickets would make any actually meaningful interest in an HYSA, unless your dad is like emptying his savings account on lottery tickets (in which case, you need to have an intervention and get him help immediately).

  • @sickpuppy575 says:

    Lottery is the idiot tax.

  • @Africa-d8w says:

..but then you cant win if you dont play.

  • @specialk2514 says:

I just started buying 5 dollar scratch offs and I have lost miserably and yet every time I go food shopping I still buy one. I am an idiot. 😊

  • @charleskim5997 says:

I don’t factor in the mathematics. i buy lottery tickets only if i had a good dream. they say in asian culture, if you see lots of water, poop or pigs, go for it!

  • @eurotrashshow says:

Maybe I’m an outlier but I don’t buy lottery tickets because I think I’ll win. I buy one every once in a while as an escape, imagine what I would do with the winnings, etc. It’s a fun thing to do, not my retirement plan

    • @litapd311 says:

this argument never made sense to me because you can do all that…without buying the ticket. if you want a fun thing to do, any money spent on the lottery ticket can produce more fun in any other way

  • @BlueTiberium5198 says:

I only buy one a month, but never more. If I win dope! If i loose, im not risking much either.

  • @woofergranade2044 says:

    Never played, never will.

  • @stevenjaide says:

Holding AWS32K and SHIB tight, we def gonna hit that 15x soon. FOMO is real!

  • @chad5529 says:

    Poor person’s tax

  • @Constitution1789 says:

Lottery doesn’t make sense. Just the government taking even more, especially from the poor. But individuals are free to spend their money however they want.

  • @steveaustin1984 says:

    Idiot tax…

  • @ThatsTheCombinationOnMyLudgage says:

    You should explain pot odds.

  • @calneh4983 says:

    Tax on stupid ppl.

  • @jameslee899 says:

Lottery is a total waste of money and designed for poor people. At first, It may not seem like a lot of money you might be spending on lottery whether it’s monthly, or weekly when you zoom out and look at annual expenditure it could be hundreds of dollars you could parked elsewhere. And if you do win, I feel like more bad things happen to you along the way and you end up with less than zero. Lottery is a terrible concept that preys on the lowest income earners in hopes of winning it big.

  • @matw1x says:

I spend 10 bucks total per year on tickets, usually on a 1B+ pot.
That 0.0000006% chance still gives me hope, and it’s fun.

  • @freelyroaming says:

The logic is that buying a second ticket you effectively double your odds. But it’s just doubling something that almost doesn’t exist.

  • @codydenion4012 says:

    So you’re saying there’s a chance

  • @GaiasFleas says:

Lotteries = tax on the stupid

  • @AbsolutTrash says:

Those odds are higher than not playing at all haha
