Love your videos, Melissa! You’re always spot on.

I’m a mom of 4 kids which I homeschool, I work part-time time from home, and serve at our church, as well as in a leadership role at our co-op, and I still walk almost every morning and lift 4x a week. It is absolutely possible! Making something a priority may mean stopping other things and making drastic changes to have the lifestyle you want. I quit my job to stay home with my kids. Lost 50% of our income but we sacrificed to make it work because that was a priority to us. Just like everything else it takes some sacrifice and I think that’s what most people struggle with. They want it all, all the time.

Joined the January- 8 week challenge. It’s week 4 and I’m still going strong! 💪 Let’s go! Speaking of alcohol… I haven’t had a glass of wine since I started & I used to have a few glasses every night. Feeling great! Thank you Melissa! 🩷

I did the challenge last year and it’s changed my life! I’ve learned so much! Stick to it and when it’s over get a trainer to help you continue 👌

Hi Melissa, I like your channel!
I, like you I quit drinking alcohol (about 13 years ago) and smoking too. It has made a huge difference how I feel. It was just a period in my life because I’ve always been very active. Now that I’m a personal trainer, I also have fitness goals for myself. I feel great and healthy.
I agree that we’re all different and our bodies respond in different ways. However, there are some general rules like smoking and drinking that are definitely detrimental for our health.

Love all your advice and tips Melissa, thank you. I’ve stopped drinking alcohol at home but occasionally out with friends it’s the norm to drink. I usually have a glass of white wine spritzer or 0% gin with diet tonic. What do you drink when you’re socialising? ☺️x

  • @HippityHopity says:

Quit drinking three years ago February 11th. Best decision I’ve made since I’ve turned 50. Just wish I’d done it sooner. No more hot flashes, sleep like a baby and weight loss is easier.

  • @Rue100 says:

I DEFINITELY AGREE WITH YOU WITH BASICALLY ALLL YOUR REASONS.

  • @sergejabosanac9538 says:

This was a great chat and love your energy and positivity. I agree with all you said. This made me feel good and inspired me to go forward and just keep going with my fitness journey. Please more chats like these as really are so helpful. Thanks Melissa.

  • @moz7173 says:

Also it’s sad to hear some people have the time to make negative comments about you. That’s 100% jealousy and insecurity from their end, I hope you take their comments as compliments x

  • @pgelenius says:

Thanks for taking us on your walk! Beautiful views! I agree with all you said!

I am 52 and in menopause and I drink 2 5 ounce glasses of red wine 2 days per week. (my days off). My wine is 122 calories for 5 ounces. I calculate that into my calories for the day, and still losing weight. I’m not ready to give that up.

  • @fondawebb4527 says:

Drinking has not been my issue because I never really liked the way it made me feel. Melissa you are definitely an inspiration. I have a ways to go. However, I know your methods are working. I am feeling stronger with each weight training session and I see the difference. I have done it all…the diets that just brought it all back and then some….not this year. I am making my health AND body transformation a priority.💪🏾😊

  • @celestemendoza3298 says:

Thank you, Melissa, for your work. My body has transformed since I began the 8-week program in July and have continued the Strong Woman Community. My results did not come quickly but I kept at it and now am seeing abs and strong arms and legs. I feel healthier now than ever! Thank you. You rock.

  • @els1573 says:

I quit drinking alcohol last year. It would take me 3 days to recover from a few glasses of red wine. Also, I believed the lies about red wine being good for you. I did get cancer of the thyroid. Please take Melissa advice. Thank you Melissa you are an inspiration.

  • @andie9762 says:

It really annoys me when women in the public eye are body shamed on social media.

  • @esther.f.g says:

That’s exactly what I think, if you have time for Netflix or Instagram you have time to meal prep healthy meals and at least walk for 20 minutes, is about priorities

  • @jayhulrs1435 says:

Melissa, I love your channel. Thanks for helping all of us. By the way, you have absolutely gorgeous skin.

  • @rb7007 says:

I must admit, Alcohol won’t be that hard for me to give up. My problem is sugar (well sweet things really).
I actually use Dates, Honey or Bananas as “Sweeteners”,….as I’m a bit skeptical of Artificial Sweeteners. 🤔
    You look great btw!

  • @eve938 says:

Well done glad you are doing what you want.

  • @mothball5425 says:

Alcohol also makes you lose control over what you eat, there used to be this calculator on the Weight Watchers website which was kind of horrible / hilarious, it was about boozy nights out and the chips / pizza / kebab as a result. It would be like 10,000 calories for one night out 😮😂

  • @sarahbean6170 says:

I have to comment that those who say that watching TV or scrolling social media is what you do bc you’re too tired. You will not believe the energy you will feel when you start just eating healthy! My energy began to be better and anxiety was subsiding and I became happier. So yes you have time to start! Do it! Your body and mind will catch up and you’ll be much happier! You’ll see!
