Thank you!
Thank you
@@MelissaNeill so how do you coordinate meals and training. Does it matter? Do you eat your meal then strenghth train. Best before & after meals? And how long should each weight train session need to be. Is it better to workout in AM or PM? Do you have another video that explains these questions? Not trying to extreme body build or do competitions or be in gym working out all day everyday, don’t need to really lose much weight either , but want to address the looseness that I’ve started to notice upper arms, belly/hip/thigh areas, and maintain muscle and strength but want to do it in a healthy way using real food as much as possible. Looking for a simple program. I see how this could become an addiction though especially when you start seeing results..😁 Understanding the science of the body helps a lot. I listened to this 3x already and just subscribed as well. Thank you for this summary and for your service!
Always appreciate hardwork and dedication. Much love and respect. I’d love to know with all due respect without coming across as rude or disrespectful, was losing your chest a concern?? Nobody talks about this.
Evenlyn, help others. Tell us how do you plan on doing what she prescribes?

Hi Melissa you look great – just wondered if you have children as that can cause the belly fat to remain as you get older 👵
Thank you for your great and honest info! Very inspiring!!🙏❤
You look amazing. I wish I looked even half as good as you do. I can see that you’re living proof of the advice you are giving. Thank you for sharing those workout tips with us. God bless

Kul, will try Ur method 2. Don’t wonna loose mass though wonna be bigger actually but not flabby. Is it possible to do so. Flat stomach ofcourse is my envy. Well done gal and keep it up. Thanks for exemplarising + U look stunning👏👏
I dont know why I’m balling my eyes out while this lady is talking. Her words “I’m worthy of this” pierced my heart and struck a chord. I give up so easily and I never think I’m worth it. She is an Ernstein and inspiration to me. I’m 43 and just had a baby and feel like I cant handle a workday. Well thank you , if you see this you turned a switch on in 1 person today and I’m going to get up and start. I can do it.
You absolutely can do it!
You can do it!
You are worthy!
You can do it!
Well-being is your birth right!
You said you just had a baby, congratulations! remember to be kind and gentle with yourself your body just went through an amazing experience… one of the most beautiful yet hardest things we do😍
You certainly can do it. You got this, Trust the Process! It works.
Yes you can!!! It’s you vs you!! ❤️
This video is like gold.
1. Eat for energy before strength training
2. Reps of 8-12 of heavy weights 3 – 10 sets. 30min per session
3. Enough calories
Stopped IF and eating protein after strength training to build more muscle. 35% protein 35% carbs 35% fat.
More consistent in higher calories and clean eating. Cut back on cardio and had strength training 4-5 times a day.
Get the mindset right. Consistency over time is the key.
Thank you 👍
4 to 5 times a DAY??
You are welcome @Margaret Elmajed.
@Mama Mack, surely you realise that was a typo? It’s supposed to be 4-5 times a week !
Thank you for the summary and here are few minor additions to this post:
Eat carbs prior to workout
Eat carbs and mostly protein pst workout (within one hour)
The ratio: 35% carbs, 35% protein, 30% fat.
Limit stress: exercise and dancing helps to minimize stress
Eating around 1700 per day as opposed to 1300 prior to transformation
Make it a lifestyle.
Amazing. I’m a PT & I must say, ma’am, if everyone over 40 train as hard as you do I’m gonna be out of biz soon cause no one’s gonna have joint pain no more🤣
THANK YOU!! Someone I can identify with in age, mistakes I’m making and frustrations I’m feeling about training results. Absolutely refreshing to see someone who isn’t in their 20’s looking fierce!!!🥳
I just turned 60 so I love watch and be inspired by ladies like Wendy Ida who is 69, Denise Austin 64, and the amazing Ernestine Shepherd who is 85 and is one of the oldest bodybuilders! These older, and physically and mentally strong ladies are raising the bar!
I’m a guy who works out a lot — this lady is giving information/insights that took me a few years to learn — she is basically summarizing the whole science of bodybuilding (she even covers the importance of mindset!) — and so on point! Fantastic video! *Liked, Subscribed, and Loved!* — from USA
Totally agree with you!
I agree
Me too, liked subscribed. Melissa your content is legit. Glad I stumbled upon your channel. 👍
Very helpful
Same here.
I’m a 45 woman and you don’t have an idea what a blessing and gift it is to watch this video. This week I just went back to my strength training because I felt like I was going nowhere but your words inspired me to keep towards my goal! I feel amazing and I won’t stop again. Thank you!
Awesome cant wait to see your videos
I will be 45 in April and started light lifting. I love it. The weight is coming off. I just need to keep eating g properly and stay focused. Glad I found video
Hi Marilyn. I’m a 49 year old woman and I now know I need to do some strength training plus my eating is not very good I could do with some help. Is there anything you can help please?
I am 44 years old and it’s encouraging to all woman to see the motivation and respect she has for herself!
Why can’t all fitness vids be this way, no rubbish just simple clear advice. What a star you are xxx
Excellent advise- I lost 90 lbs 3 years ago, strength training changed my life. I’m 54 today, never looked, felt better.
I’m only 35 but lost a lot of muscles over the years from working a desk job. I was eating 1600 calories and walking and still weighed over 200 lbs… For years! My metabolism was completely at a standstill. Only a couple weeks of weight training and I’m already seeing results it honestly makes me want to cry
That is great to hear. Glad that’s working out for you. You can also look into Reverse Dieting.
Keep doing the work and more progress will come. You got this!
Desk working really drains me out too😞 it noy only makes me want to skip workout, also it seems to always give me negative thoughts. I’m so happy you’re getting back on track. Let’s beat up all the obstacles and get to balance of the heathy body and mind❤️
@@thutrangnguyen1468 OMG! I thought it was just me.
Why cry?
Thank you! I’m 53 soon to be 54 and I feel like I was just given the best birthday gift I ever had in the last 20. I will be following you.
This was so encouraging. After letting myself go to care for my mother in her final years and months, I have begun my weight loss and muscle tone journey at age 51. It’s time to care for myself again. I have struggled with eating and body image issues my entire life.
you got this ❤️
@michelezdanowicz I m with you, it’s only after seeing the last years of my deceased parents, I started to take notice on how important it is to stay active, to keep fit and to nourish both my body and my mind. I spent my early years caring for everyone else except myself, it’s like a wake up call at 62. Love!
@@yourstrulyregina Same situation for me, at 60. We can do it! So glad I found this video.
God bless you 🙏
@yourstrulyregina I’m right there with you! You’re not alone. Thanks for sharing and sorry for your losses. Self care is vital to our well-being.
Yessss!!! As a 41-year-young fitness trainer, I 100% support this message! What a refreshing video to see amongst the multiple 20-something influencers that share advice that only works for other 20-something’s. Our bodies, our hormones, and our needs are different. It doesn’t mean we can’t achieve our goals! It means we have to work smarter and differently. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for sharing your insight and journey. By the way-you have the most adorable voice!
Amen!
“I am worthy of this achievement, and I am achieving it right now”. WOW powerful ❤
As a former personal trainer for NATO and body builder, I can share that for me to build muscle fast I went as heavy as I could and did 3 to 6 reps at 3 sets. I built muscle fast and lost fat fast!! I ate healthy before and after my workouts and I lost unwanted weight!! I ate a ton of WHOLE EGGS!! I still workout the same and I am 50 yrs young. I do not look my age!!
That’s really helpful – thank you!
❤️
Any recommendations on how doing this if my joints aren’t as strong. I have arthritis and I used to workout at the gym to gain muscles and lose body fat but I couldn’t lift practically any weight without hurting my joints. I decided to workout at home just using my body weight in my workouts as my dr recommended with “no additional weight” but this seems to help for weight loss not as well for building muscle for toning my body. Too many softy areas now. Any recommendations? Btw I’m 55.
I should I start please help
What did you eat before working out?
I wasn’t getting anywhere with IF and HIIT. Thank you for bringing us back to reality: you want to be lean, you want muscle? You got to eat and put the running sneakers away. Thanks Melissa.
She spot on I made all the same mistakes
But running is providing so many other health benefits. This is all about appearance over health.
Omg I’m doing exactly that! I’m 57 yo with a lot of body fat! Intermittent fasting and eating low carbs. I’m getting 1300 calories/day. I lost 25 lbs but not in the midsection. I will definitely make the necessary changes!! Thank you so much!
She’s amazing. Every word. Authentic. Not pushing a message. Just true experience
Fantastic advice. Clear, concise, to the point. I love that you didn’t chit chat for 20 minutes and just laid down the info. We need more of this!
Glad you enjoyed it!
