I dont mind the scamming, I’m annoyed about the picture on card/ ID. It’s an annoying hassle.

  • @thanieltu3153 says:

It’s good, I think rules should be enforced

  • @Chad_Max says:

I thought the lines in the AM when they open would be longer with the ID enforcement but turns out the lines are actually shorter in the AM now and it’s much easier to get in…

  • @AAGConnor says:

It’s worked out well I think. Though I’d argue your numbers for Costco are generous by comparing them to Netflix. I think way more people were sharing Netflix subs than Costco cards

  • @assassincreed5939 says:

Wait a minute, so basically i can take a picture of my Costco Card or print screen Costco app with membership QR code and send to my friend and he will be able to scan it and also use self checkout lane?
How does this reduces membership sharing?

    • @zeilus405 says:

When you scan your members card your picture shows up and if they see your not that person, they won’t let you in

    • @Heiish says:

Also self checkouts got bouncers that verify that the pic on the card matches your face, or whoever’s buying.

I am no longer a fan of Costco. When not many ppl knew about Costco, their products were better but now I see it going down. They pride themselves in to raising the price of their baked chicken or hotdogs, but let’s see how long that is going to last. They are starting to put profits over ppl, and it is very obvious now. They are like every other company. No one is saying don’t raise your prices. But when you raise prices and quality decreases, then it really isn’t fair to the consumer. Kirkland brand is no longer the “gold standard” trust me on that!

We’ve always had to show our membership card at Costco. The difference here is they will have more accurate data on when members enter the store, how long they are there, etc.

  • @shawncooper8131 says:

They have made a difference at door counts.

  • @T9TGm says:

    Costco is getting worsy

  • @lcbtcethada3957 says:

I love Costco! No hassle at all.

  • @rl2productions97 says:

Wouldn’t I be able to walk in together with someone who does have a membership and buy things with two different transactions?

  • @EYTSIRHC1 says:

I think it’s annoying to show my card and then put it away to shop and pull it back out to pay and waiting in a long line to pay and to show my receipt to leave. Sam’s is easier. I walk in and grab what I want and scan and pay with my phone and show my receipt when I leave. I have Costco for my car insurance and I sometimes shop there, but I rarely shop at Costco and Sam’s. Costco is always extremely crowded and slow. If Costco had me pay with my phone, it’d make things faster and more convenient. It’s just stressful to shop there when Target and Hy-Vee put stuff in my cart. Scanning my card isn’t any different than showing someone my card and it’s not necessary if I have to scan my card to pay anyway and show my receipt to leave. They just want to be as annoying and inconvenient as possible. I don’t usually buy food either because I don’t want to wait with my cart full of stuff for food and try to find a table with a cart full of stuff and try to get ketchup on my hotdog and push the giant cart and hold the receipt and try to leave and then push my giant cart while holding the receipt and the hotdog and my keys and then unload groceries and put the cart away while holding the hotdog like it’s awfully inconvenient. If I could have someone bring me the groceries and put them in my trunk and possibly bring me the hotdog, I would shop there more. The gas is a long line and tricky to figure out how to scan the membership card at the pump and you feel rushed. They need to make it double the amount of lanes wide instead of deep and post clear instructions for scanning your membership card and your debit card to pay. Sam’s puts groceries in your cart, but I haven’t tried it yet. Sam’s has gas, but I haven’t tried it yet. I’ve had both cards for over a year and barely use either.

From my understanding, it’s just to keep labor stable so they don’t have to hire and fire people. Get the membership when possible for consistency.
