I don’t know how its all free Dr. Karoly, but everyone rejoices that it is. Thank you for covering one of my favourite pieces of software!

  • @Ila_Aras says:

It’s too bad Blender Foundation is running out of money. Whenever you make videos on blender, it’d be such a big help to include a small reminder to donate, but only if you can afford it. (If you have done this before, then I’m sorry for missing that.)

Thank you for covering this in general, though. Your videos reach a wide audience, and a large portion of them have never used a 3d software. Showing the power of Blender in such a digestible format is really cool πŸ™‚

for those denying: less than 0.05% of active users actually donate. Blender is making an absolute miniscule amount of money compared to their services provided, and dedication to improving the software. If you are offended by this truth, or simply don’t believe it, then you’re the problem. Go donate. Even a dollar helps.

@@TwoMinutePapersThank you too!! Glad to have helped!!

    • @Ila_Aras says:

@mascarademermelada8746Β  sadly can not find the video that was posted about this, but basically, yeah. for blender to continue paying their developers, and improving the Software, they are currently making quite a miniscule amount. The more features blender has, the more money it costs to upkeep. They also plan on hiring many more devs.

    • @xdanic3 says:

They’re making more money than ever, the problem is most of that is corporate founding and they don’t want to rely as heavily on it

Currently rendering the first scene of my short film being made with 4.3.
the shot is 15 seconds and is looking to render for a total of 36 hours on my 4090 at 24fps.

I used to use 3ds max / maya for game dev, but that was and still is soooo expensive. I agree Blender is way better nowadays (I don’t even need max / maya anymore) and it’s awesome that the big corps finally have some competition. Thanks Blender!

  • @ShiroiAkumaSama says:

Eevee even got real time cryptomatte support! Cycles still lacking that. That is so cool if you just wanna bloom a certain object in previz without rendering it out.

    awesome!

  • @khtrammell says:

Great video! We CG artists are a funny breed:New feature #2: Now we graduate to the actual physically accurate metal nodeNew feature #3: Finally we have control to break the laws of physics with light linking! We want physically accurate tools AND we want tools to break physical accuracy πŸ™ƒ

new free money glitch discovered. 5:02 “get for free then ask for your money back” XD

  • @Ba4rden says:

I used to look forward to what technological breakthroughs you would be showcasing in each video, so in contrast to that this hype for any minor update of popular software is pretty weak content.

  • @Meloncov says:

Wait, Blender didn’t have light linking before?

  • @JamesRogersProgrammer says:

It is free because we bought it from the original company and released it as open source. I helped with that at the time.

  • @BRUXXUS says:

Blender is one of the things that’s constantly making me feel happy. πŸ˜ƒ Even with all the new tech, that UI docking and dragging may be what I’m most excited for. lol. I’ve constantly accidentally resized a dock and had no idea how to revert it.
