If i ever become a millionaire im giving half of that to blender, they deserve everything!

Very rarely does the industry standard happen to be Open Source, but Blender is one of these cases!

    • @Owlboi says:

Blender is not the industry standard. but its slowly becoming it which is great

    • @hound_of_justice says:

Its not the industry standard although its used more and more at the current time.

    • @Napert says:

Industry standard is still some 30-year-old software
blender ain’t got no support, so don’t expect anyone big to be using it in production environments (unless they want to get fired asap)

    • @dahahaka says:

@@Napertpeople are using it extensively in production, even at studios that are hardcore on Maya, blender is used in the early stages to sketch out things

@@Napert Even big studios that relies on maya also use blender in their pipeline

Universities need to stop gatekeeping degrees.

    • @ICE0124 says:

@@drmarioschannel I think they are talking about how you can find courses on YouTube and stuff that compare to ones found on universities. Literally you can learn so much without paying anything because it seems like there is tons of free resources online for any topic you want to learn.

    • @perlsackhd3957 says:

@@drmarioschannel what are they gatekeeping? If you don’t want to go to a public university there are some private ones out there

    • @josephvanbrunning2960 says:

Ok without a degree and or work history your resume is poopypaper. Today they dont even need to shred it they just never see it because of ai sorts it to the bottom and their are many many applicants! Education should be free to anyone who is willing to learn otherwise what will we do when it costs more to do a job than the average person can pay. Total Societal Collapse. Cant go to work if you cant fix your car. Back to Feudalism we go!

    • @Marvin-vs3tu says:

      @@drmarioschannelyou don’t need a degree for 3d artists

  • @GuTTs1975 says:

Blender is at the moment only bright beacon for artists with good intentions.

  • @rubiskelter says:

Used Blender 18 years ago as kid, it was so awesome back then, it is beyond impressive nowadays. Probably in the top 3 best complex open source software ever created.

    • @user-sl6gn1ss8p says:

That’s roughly when i used it too, made a couple simple animations. It was already so cool, but it sure has been quite a ride occasionally checking its progress along the years

With Godot 4.3 release on the horizon as well, it’s becoming a good time to be a fan of open-source game development tools!

  • @NicCrimson says:

  • @peterlemon1385 says:

As a long time Blender user, it makes me so proud to see what this opensource application has become over the decades. I really lucked out choosing Blender as my main 3D tool, & it just keeps getting better & better. Also so happy that Two Minute Papers appreciated it so much too, thanks for keeping other people in the loop of what is new in Blender with each new major iteration =D

    • @_DRMR_ says:

Semantically this is only a minor iteration 😉
      (but with major improvements!)

    • @Freshbott2 says:

Same. I don’t know why anyone tortures themselves with anything other than Blender except Houdini. Other tools are ancient. If you need some special specific thing you’ve got better chances of either finding a plugin or making your own. Houdini obviously is in a class of its own but is less approachable.
I hope to see someone do for BIM and CAD what Blender has done for vis. AutoDesk’s weaseling is corrupt.

  • @KAGARAKIS says:

i was a maya user for almost 15 years and now i m blender user and im not going back!👌👌👌

    • @Dead_Goat says:

How? I cannot stomach using blender, nothing makes sense. I am a long time 3dsmax user since 2005,

    • @josephbrandenburg4373 says:

@@Dead_Goatit makes sense, you have to approach it as something new. Max doesn’t make much sense to blender users at first.
Honestly I think it is much easier to go from blender to the other tools than to go the other way around.

    • @knowledgeispower9724 says:

smart man. i learned 3d modeling in Solidworks for my engineering degree. after college i had to find an alternative. tried learning blender, maya, and 3ds max at the same time. got lost in maya and 3ds max… currently have about 3,000 projects and renders in blender and dont think ill look at anything else

    • @zedeon6299 says:

@@Dead_Goat u need to stop treating it as 3dsmax, you need to learn it from scratch

  • @gxmikvid3806 says:

All this and vulkan backend too.
Props to the team, and go donate (if you can). Blender is free but not cheap.
    Greetings from Hungary btw.

  • @roboterson says:

I use blender at work and am in the process of updating our whole system to take advantage of some of the new features that come with it. We are currently using a very old version so it plays nice with all our plugins, but as of last week was able to get all of them up and running. I can’t wait to use it to make some new incredible models.
