Learn Machine Learning in 3 Months (with curriculum)

How is a total beginner supposed to get started learning machine learning? I'm going to describe a 3 month curriculum to help you go from beginner to well-versed in machine learning. Its an accelerated learning plan, something i'd create for myself if I were to get started today, but I'm going to open source it for you guys. This curriculum will cover all the math concepts, the machine learning theory, and the deep learning theory to get you up to speed with the field as fast as possible. If anyone asks how to best get started with machine learning, direct them to this video!

I’m gonna learn from the very next month (APRIL) as I have my Board Exams now!
    Thanks Siraj as always.

  • @liamschapers7531 says:

Thank you Siraj for sharing this with us 🙂

  • @13thxenos says:

Just the mentioning 3blue1brown deserves a like. I wish I could like more than once. Well done Siraj.

  • @Jabrils says:

Very cool suggestions man! I need to apply some of these 😀

  • @timothyhuyzen8404 says:

Thanks Siraj! Really appreciate the curriculum. The new learning revolution is the open-source learning.

  • @troysincomb says:

I wish there was someone like you for bioinformatics here. You’re god-sent to those starting in the field of machine learning.

    • @ant2011 says:

If you find anything, could you let me know?

    • @troysincomb says:

It’s a little more complicated than that; in California it’s very competitive. So even though I have a BS in Bioengineering: Bioinformatics, most if not all companies worth working at want at least a masters. Having someone like Siraj for Bioinformatics would be a nice thing to have while I get ready for grad school.

    • @SirajRaval says:

will apply ML to it in future video

  • @pasticherecords says:

My MAN! just became subscriber! I like your teaching style but most of all your POSITIVE ATTITUDE! Yes this world belongs to those who are willing to learn! Adapt or perish 🙂 Hello from New Zealand

  • @Fuckutube547465 says:

Take UC San Diego’s course “Learning how to lean” free on Coursera. It’s a pretty short course that has some very helpful techniques. Learning is not just downloading data. It’s forming meaningful pathways in your brain. That’s why you need to implement this stuff yourself and not just watch lectures at 2x-3x. By all means, absorb as much information as possible, just know that you need to put in much more effort than that if you want to succeed in ML.

I’ve watched tons of lectures at 1.75 – 2.75x. It’s definitely effective, but don’t kid yourself. If you aren’t fully grasping the materials, then try different methods of learning and different sources before you move on. Don’t let the timeline force you to skip important subjects.

There’s a reason so many machine learning experts have masters and phds. It’s not required, but it represents the level of tenacity you’ll need to get intuition about ML as a whole. If that discourages you, then pick another field. If it doesn’t, and it shouldn’t, then GO GET IT! Take these courses, read papers, implement algorithms, watch Siraj, teach others. You’re at the base of the mountain, the higher you go, the better the view gets. This curriculum isn’t all it takes to get near the top. But you don’t have to be at the tippy top to get a beautiful view.

Thanks for the good content Siraj!

This is the best video you’ve ever made. I want to do it!

  • @ivoriankoua3916 says:

I remember asking for this question and I’m so happy that you give us a deep road map so Thanks You Again you’re the kind of great man that our health needs , THANKS Sir

  • @ironjustice3067 says:

I love you for this. Open and free education in quality is so scarce these days it seems, it’s nice to see it still alive

  • @vamonke says:

Thanks so much for this video! I’ve just started my journey on ML and one of the difficulties I’ve faced is structuring my learning. Now I have a much clearer picture of my ML roadmap. Thanks and keep up the amazing work!

  • @carlitosdroid says:

I’m really excited! Thank you very much for this suggestion. Now I’ll study and practice machine learning not only 3 months but many more.

  • @shazmunchdylbertoid says:

thankyou! yours is some of the best ML content I’ve found, thank you for producing it. I will be starting this course asap!

  • @rahelbakir8520 says:

You are a great teacher man i just love when you want to start learning something and you dont know where to start and someone like you explains all of it, but your memes are outdated.

  • @roysaswata says:

This is brilliant !!! ” stop telling yourself I can’t do it ” part is true !! thanks for the words and such a brilliant intuitive video !! Keep up the great work !

  • @petermathes2061 says:

I just wanted to say thanks to helping folks learn about ML/AI/NN etc. Clear, concise and extremely helpful!

  • @RageWorthyFilms says:

Thanks for this encouragement, i drooped out of uni and completed a web design course 3 years ago but recently decided to start relearning all my high school math and im planning to learn advanced mathamatics so i can go back to uni next year and get my bacholers for Electrical Engineering. ive been looking for a way to test myself before hand to make sure i can handel the study load so i have been teaching myself JS, AI is something im incredibly interested in so this video has given me another goal and a great subject to elarn that will help me further my understanding.

Thanks again for the brilliant content !

  • @sasak548 says:

Thank you so much! What a great world we live in if we have people like you! Thanks for all the work you put into your videos, you’re making the world a way better place!

  • @hishairness says:

I actually spent 3 months learning ML on my own on my leisure time. I could programme simple ANN, CNN and RNN using with just Python or with Keras while understanding what is going on with the algoriths.

I had no programming knowledge but I am an Engineering graduate and a Finance master. So, I have pretty good knowledge in Calculus and Linear Algebra.

If you are an absolute beginner in everything ML requires, I would say it’s very difficult to have a good learning outcome in just 3 months unless you are a genius. But if you want to be able to code a neural network using higher level framework like Keras, it’s totally possible in 3 months. To understand the fundamentals well, you will need much more time.

Right now, I am working through the deep learning textbook co-authored by Ian Goodfellow to understand the very basics of ML. I hope that will put me in a much better position to innovate in the future.
