Same — this is such an adult take. *toasts coffee*
Part of me is “worried” that we will bounce back from this because progressives and other sincere people are fighting for a country we want. And then the history books will give Trump credit instead for “shaking things up”. Then the MAGA crowd will be like “see we were right”. And I’m kind of already mad about it.
We haven’t had progressive policy in this country since FDR. I dont care who gets credited a century later. I just want healthcare, affordable housing and childcare.
there will not be history books anymore after
So you’re worried about Trump’s perceived legacy? That’s what you’re worried about? Go watch this video again.
Credit for what exactly? Messing everything up by threatening tariffs and then patching things over with slightly less tariffs? lol. Things are still going to get more expensive. Then there is overturning Roe v. Wade due to his Supreme Court pick. I dont know what you are “worried” about. We all what what is best for this country and any sane person knew all along that Trump wasn’t it.
@@countrypoorI think they mean they are worried that this will all be glossed over and then someone else will come along and repeat it. Which would then harm god knows how many more marginalized people.
My stock portfolio may have rebounded (eh kind of…asterisk), but I am still mad that a sitting president can manipulate the stock market with no repercussions. We cannot allow US to memoryhole this.
He’s committed so much unhinged chaos that it’s almost impossible to document all of the obscene injustices he’s done. It’s hasn’t even been six months!
@ oh but people have tried. I recommend reading “documenting the damage” by brett heinz
Right wingers saying “this was his plan all along” is the biggest cope on the planet.
Cult gonna cult. dear leader can do no wrong
It’s sooooo embarrassing
He’s the orange jesus. He will get “Gods will” forgiveness regardless of what he does. 🤪
What else can you expect from such an insightful crowd? 😂
it’s only to the extent that he just does whatever he pleases, but to call is “a plan” is invalid
I’m here for 3 things: 1) Chelsea spitting facts. 2) Chelsea being real. 3) Chelsea serving hair

I’m a hairstylist who stays swooning over Chelsea’s hair 😍😍
Yes, and Amen
I’m a white female over 60 disabled working part time (until my job ends on 9/01/2025) withsnap benefits. I’m hoping to get social security soon. I volunteer at renaissance faires (part of front gate staff) doing my best to make safe spaces for others. If I get social security retirement checks then my partner and I will stay in housing and keep volunteering at faires helping to keep everyone safe there. I am doing my best to wittle down my carbon footprint because climate change is a thing that hurts everyone. Not sure how much more I can do for others beyond that.. Hints are always helpfull, which is why I keep coming back to watch your videos!
You are doing amazing!! <3
@@thefinancialdiet Thanks! <3
@@thefinancialdiet I would really love it if you would do a video about the impact of changes to healthcare on people with disabilities and their families. Chelsea there just isn’t enough out there about stuff like that, because the danger isn’t just for trans people and immigrants. Also it is very much in your wheelhouse.
you better google who came up with the “carbon footprint” phenomenon and think really hard what it is needed for. Then, stop wasting your time on this
I am disabled but I set up a small amount to go to the food bank every month. I use the 5 calls app to call my reps. I boycott Amazon and support independent media.
Amazing work. I haven’t heard of that app but I’ll take a look. And I too have boycotted Amazon, Facebook, Instagram, Target
Also disabled. The 5 calls site is so useful! Once my meager energy isn’t directed to moving, I plan to do that.
Thank you
It takes a lot of bravery and self-confidence to read nasty comments and then thoughtfully respond to them. I don’t always 100% agree with every single word you say (I’m just not cool enough, Chelsea), but you being able to address uncomfortable emotions and then articulate to your audience with clarity and to stick to your guns is why I follow your channel. I’m one of those people who can’t read mean comments and can’t deal with cyber bullies, so I admire you greatly. Also, I agree that we’re privileged and the best thing to do is to help others where possible. Thank you for that reminder. <3
happy mother’s day to our child-free-queen Chelsea for mothering us so hard this week

You are welcome, child <3
To second Chelsea’s point, focusing on volunteering and mutual aid will also give you a sense of control and community in these dark times! Simply handing food to someone else side by side with another person doing the same, say at a food pantry, restores your faith in humanity because you can see how directly we can help one another when everyone works together. If you don’t know where to start, look up community free fridges in your area and see if you can donate a few cans of food or some bread and pb and j. Look and see if your town or city has a volunteer directory – it’s also a wonderful way to meet new people, make new friends, and fight loneliness while fighting for the type of future you believe in!
I second this! I’ve started to get involved in my community and some local protests for the first time, and even though it seems really small, it has definitely made it easier to cope with things that are outside of my control. Also, just being with other people irl who share your headspace has been helpful.
I just wanna point out that Chelsea is saying do what you can, not do it all. I’m disabled in many ways but I am still able to join online mutual aid networks and make plans for people I know.
If you do nothing else, please wear a mask in places where disabled people must go, like doctors’ offices and grocery stores. Quite literally putting on your own mask to help others.
❤❤❤❤❤
I started asking around about why my 80 year old transphobic, anti-education state senator has run unopposed in the last 2 elections and found myself now running against him for state senate. I’m no politician, and will likely lose in this red area, but I have to try. If you said I’d be running for state senate 5 years ago I would have laughed out loud. Chelsea is right, as usual. Use your privilege when you can.
Ma’am you deserve more likes. 🎉
Respect! 🙌
@@cindiiscurious good luck!!
This is incredibly brave! I wish you, wholeheartedly, all the best!
Transphobic is not a thing but nice try
The one where Chelsea explains intersectionality to rich white women
The fact some of them need it explained to them is mind boggling
Another thing to consider in these issues is that all the more marginalized groups are at the forefront. If their issues get solved, so do yours. AND you actually have more power to help them than to help yourself. If you are in a situation where you’re worried about what will happen when the world falls apart, go and give strength to those for whom the world has already fallen. If you succeed with them, your fears will never be realized
You were clear in your previous video. Those of us that have some privilege must remain engaged but also save our energy to participate in ways that are helpful to influence the system to change the it for those who aren’t. If we are overwhelmed despite experiencing lesser impact, we can’t be as productive.
I appreciate your content.

💯 I think people don’t realize how much they contribute to positive societal change just by being their authentic selves. I think it is wiser to stretch just a bit more than to push and say it’s not enough.
It feels kind of wild how many people hold almost no space for nuance and jump to exaggeration and critique. To me, you answered those questions precisely and in a nuanced way in Asked and Answered and honestly…yeah, people who are less impacted should practice thinking more about others rather than being consumed by their own worries. While no one is saying that you can’t be concerned, the reality is that you can be concerned about your own family AND recognize that you are in a place of privilege in many ways and that it’s worthwhile to think of others too.
As a trans, depressed, anxious person (clinically speaking), I’m trying (and frankly, succeeding) at keeping a level head about things. I know that I’m otherwise privileged and I try to use that to help people in my community. If I can take action, y’all can too.
❤
As a middle aged German, the Habeas Corpus being questioned gives me icy chills. My grandmother always warned me it would creep back, I had hoped she was wrong. In Europe they are rearing their ugly heads again, too. It is the moment of truth.
I’m Polish and I’m terrified. I can’t see how anything but a sweeping labor movement across the West could save us at this point. Otherwise the inequality will keep rising, white people will get poorer and angrier, and they will search for scapegoats. R*cism always spreads when times are hard.
I am humbled by my child, who is a disabled, trans young adult and whose first response to every social crisis is “how can I help?!” I love him for his spirit, but it’s a poignant reminder that the rest of us, in our various dimensions of privilege, need to be making the world a safe place for vulnerable people like him. His first thought shouldn’t *have* to be urgently wondering how to use his precious resources trying to help him and his communities feel safe and supported.
