  • @interastra367 says:

    gahhh second love this channel

  • @AlvinCwk says:

0:59 This one is the most important

  • @cantstopthefunk22 says:

The pace these things are advancing is equally exciting and terrifying

  • @swimmingturtle247 says:

I loved the enthusiasm behind today’s “What a TIME to be aliiiiiiiiiiive :D”

  • @tyalikanky says:

    That’s how real competition works!
I hope we will see many new free models from China.

    • @WhiskerCat09 says:

I want them to skid OpenAI again and again and again

    • @Alpha13yt says:

Some open-source models coming from the west wouldn’t be bad either. Being more secretive than the ccp is not a good look

    • @romanemul1 says:

      @WhiskerCat09 lets call them ClosedAI

    • @epicboy330 says:

It doesn’t matter how much you hate OpenAI; China releasing free models like that is terrible for the US economy.
Your desire to see a company have heavy competition is not more important than the economy as a whole

    • @aladinmovies says:

@@epicboy330you can pay for openai and make them happy. But if deepseek more cheaper and more better than closed ai models, may be good to pay money for China? It is really competition, if openai can make there models cheaper = do and people’s can use openai. For my tasks only useful Deepseek and Claude, bot not o3-mini and so on…

  • @MidWitPride says:

And people still go on about how “AI can’t even do hands, lmao”

    • @epicboy330 says:

Which shows that people don’t keep up, because that’s seriously outdated. A lot of models have been consistently good at hands (mind you not perfect of course) for over a year

    • @MidWitPride says:

@@epicboy330 I’d say that in many cases the industry has over-corrected. If you want to generate a character with 6 fingers, you really, really have to wrestle the model into submission. By now the fact that “Hands have 5 fingers!!!” has been drilled so thoroughly into these models, that going against it has become the issue if anything.
Even if you do generate 6 fingers, it will be just a single generation out of many. So unless you literally pick the first generation you come across AND you get very unlucky, it is a non-issue.

  • @dicaschinesas says:

    Open AI mini what?
Why not the real thing for free and open-source, just like DeepSeek?
    Open AI, nooooooooooo thank you.

    • @11aniketkumar says:

Who can say that they didn’t just publish R1 again with mini name, afterall there is no technological breakthrough like R1.

  • @BracerJack says:

I will only consider it “free” if the gguf file is available for download, if it is just free “online” then it is fake, for it can be pull up any moment.

    • @MarcosCapixaba says:

Evil Americans will always scam you…. They just compared ‘Free playground with limits’ to all the way Free on your Box and will die to fool you that’s the same thing

    • @smokeandmirrors1280 says:

so true, its gonna be free for a few weeks and then it will be something like you can send 3 messages every 4 hours for free otherwise pay the $200 per month to send a whooping 9 messages every 3 hours

    • @GraveUypo says:

if it’s online and free, then it’s stealing your data.

    • @BracerJack says:

@smokeandmirrors1280  Agree, so I think calling what is only available online “free” is kinda….

    • @ianwatson5767 says:

@@smokeandmirrors1280Yeah OpenAi is for profit and closed source. China will prevail as long as they stay close and keep releasing open source. Nobody wants to pay 200+ a month for these things

  • @Takosaga says:

Glad deepseek released its model and paper to force OpenAI to do something.

    • @ai_handbook says:

Totally agree mate! It brought action into media and companied 😅

    • @ianwatson5767 says:

They (China) showed that using their intellect instead of just pumping billions of dollars into something that isn’t going to scale well is the better bet. If China can make something comparable to openai for 0.02% the price, obviously openai and other American aren’t going about it the right way.

  • @TupperWallace says:

A thousand videos and there are still comments from people who are psychologically unable to cope with his Hungarian accent.

  • @debyte404 says:

This is why compitition is important instead of mono or duopoly

    • @MarcosCapixaba says:

Even if on Side are Chinese Engineers and the other side are also Chinese Engineers

    • @ianwatson5767 says:

OpenAi will probably make this paid in a month or so, they’re just trying to stay competitive with China. Jokes on them, as long as they are greed driven they’ll never beat open source.

  • @kinngrimm says:

Many of the benchmarks shown have not yet the DeepSeek comparison.
Would be nice to have those in the future added for their new models.
I mean i get why OpenAI only compares their new Stuff to their old stuff, but if possible more comparisons of all kinds of AI systems with different types of benchmarks would be interesting to look over.

  • @MatthewHarrold says:

My eldest son (27) and I (53) have some great conversations based on our shared exposure to this channel. I barely keep up with this stuff, but my son is in the realm of writing papers, not just appreciating our happenstance of being alive now. $0.02

  • @Schokofondue says:

I felt like the reasoning model had a smaller context window when I used it just now.. but I guess that is because of the hidden reasoning it has in its context window, too 🤔

  • @moneyballX says:

How can Open AI not benchmark against Deepseek in their paper? Marketing like an old slow tech company already?

  • @rygdan says:

Thank god for free models competing with OpenAI for it to make their products accessible!

  • @epicboy330 says:

No matter how many smart people are inside your company, there will always be more outside of it

  • @azertyQ says:

“For Free” – you’re giving them more data for training.

  • @Stevorenoz says:

Love your videos! I was thinking, as someone who is more of a casual viewer that doesn’t fully understand everything that’s possible with open ai, I think a video showing off everyday applications that the average person could find helpful would be awesome. Or if you or anyone else in the comments knows of someone who has already done this feel free to comment some recommendations!

Edit: For example, I love using it to plan my day out in the mornings

  • @brianhershey563 says:

No matter where this all goes, I’ll always cherish Károly, a beautifully brilliant guide through uncertain and exciting times. 🙏 💪
