  • @NguyenLena-j5x says:

Living beyond our financial means to keep up with friends or colleagues is becoming an increasingly common issue in modern society, especially when we are heavily influenced by social media and what we see.

    • @MrSubsound90 says:

Part of that as well is that things that were normal to have in previous decades have become unaffordable.

The painting of the avocados is beautiful and millennial af.

needed this. i’m in so much debt, and i’ve been avoiding everything in my life because of it

    • @SparklyGoomy says:

I know it doesn’t mean much from a stranger on the internet, but the fact that you acknowledge your debt instead of avoiding it, like so many people do, is the first step in overcoming it. You got this! ✨

There are lots of great budgeting tools out there to help you. I was in my late 40s before I really learned how to budget but it has been a game changer for me. Every dollar has a job. I use the BBP method from The Budget Mom (I’m not her target demographic, but the workbook is good for me), but there’s also YNAB and lots of others! Good luck!

Every time I think about anti-aging, I think of the girl in my college seminar who panicked about getting old, looking me dead in the eye and saying “I hope I die before I go gray.” I will say, I don’t think she knew how early going gray happens (she was 22 and had very dark hair, so she might be in for a nasty surprise). The idea that aging is an on/off switch and not a gradual process is so deeply harmful, not even mentioning that it’s apparently a fate worse than death to have silver hair???

I just got done paying off over 25k of credit card debt this year after spending my early 20s buying clothes and things that I thought would finally help me fit in and appear how I’ve always wanted to in the eyes of others. Obviously it never worked and I ended up with clothes that I couldn’t fit or that cluttered my closet and an even worse self of esteem.
