Very inspiring, I can’t afford the GYM membership but I work out three to four times a week at home. I have 20 pounds to go.

    • @itsacarolbthing5221 says:

I think it’s harder to work out at home, it takes more discipline, so WELL DONE YOU!! Keep going, I know you’ll get there!! Xx

    • @mandeg7540 says:

There are great on line personal trainers from Alllll over the world
      and ladies only gyms
      so no excuses.

    • @Reneefitat70 says:

Lifting weights is key! But nutrition is also imperative! We need at least 1 g of protein for every pound of body weight every day. If we’re not getting that much, we can’t build muscle and it’s harder to lose fat.

    • @robertsmentkowski312 says:

well done. keep at it. measure. figure what works. keep at it

    • @suraya1224 says:

Yes, inspiring; I can afford the gym membership, but not the face lift, fillers, human hair wigs, & implants. But she looks great.

  • @dschultz6981 says:

What a great way to start the day! Both Renee and Melissa are inspiring and encouraging. I’m 58 and have been lifting weights for six years and my health is better than when I was in my 30s. I’m thankful for people like Renee and Melissa who keep us motivated. πŸ™‚

    • @MelissaNeill says:

      Love lots!

    • @Reneefitat70 says:

I love hearing this! You are giving yourself the best gift ever! Never stop lifting! It is the fountain of youth! I am living proof !πŸ’ͺ🏼πŸ₯°πŸ™πŸΌ

    • @trismaccarran9950 says:

@Renee Landers….Weight lifting, added to cardio workout, saved my sanity. I too had spinal fusion surgeries (2 of them), lower lumbar. I found my back getting stronger as a result of doing reverse lat pulls: my doc said it was akin to traction, increasing the distance between discs, so they don’t become compressed.

    • @natb636 says:

      She looks amazing

  • @Splinter.00 says:

So much respect for someone over 60+ working out and maintaining. Keeping the body fit isn’t really difficult until over the age of 60. This woman at 71 is incredible and an absolute inspiration πŸ†.

    • @serenadiaz1138 says:

I would like to know what supplements she takes for hormones, energy, and sleep …please and thank you …. I can tell she does do injections but what what’s the name of them please??

    • @acer4237 says:

It starts getting difficult at 50 ….but sure it gets harder at 60

    • @dammar117 says:

Right. 50 is the real threshold. That’s when the big shift happens. After that, it just gets worse, and more hard work, but there’s a major before and after around 50.

    • @aspiknf says:

Yes, she is an inspiration for flirtatious French skunks everywhere who want to chase and sexually attract cats who look like female skunks for the rest of their lives πŸ˜‰

  • @margaretmayekar8761 says:

Thanks for sharing this. There is so much negativity around aging. It’s great to have role models like Renee. Also Ernestine Shepard who still teaches fitness classes and walks miles a day at 86yo, and Josefina Monasterio, a competitive bodybuilder, 77yo on her recent birthday!

  • @pretoriaafro5074 says:

I truly need to stop the negative comments about my process of getting older. Thanks for that!

  • @shaunasinclair3328 says:

How inspiring!!! I’m about to turn 60 and just started weight training/cardio/Pilates and adjusting my diet to include more protein and cleaning it up. It’s women like you that I find so encouraging that at an older age you can still look and feel fabulous. Thank you for sharing your story.

    • @bornfree3124 says:

A good rule to follow especially when new to strength training with weights, start out with light weights and higher reps, it takes awhile to condition ligaments and tendons to weight training, slowly add a bit more weight to your workout and bring the reps down a bit, eventually to build muscle around 12 reps would be a good point to stay with, then add a bit more weights as to stay around 12 reps, this is a good range to build some muscle without injuring yourself, advanced trainers wanting strength would drop to around 6 reps, good luck.

  • @robinmagdahlen2721 says:

And it’s true. Just start. I started by laying on the floor with one pound weights due to neck issues and now I’m upright with ten pound weights and I intend to keep going.

    • @ruthtavarez8302 says:

      @Robin Magdahlen…
Same here I have a pinch nerve on my left side of my neck… I would like to know how you use weight to work out?
My concern was not to use them afraid to hurt my injury.
      Thanks

  • @hayeavril says:

Oh my goodness! She is so, so inspiring. Tears came to my eyes when she said, β€˜ you are worthy and you deserve it’ wow! Thank you Melissa for bringing this interview to us!

  • @triciaseddon4301 says:

I think that we are programmed to just except that we are getting older, that the menopause hits us and we get fatter, i was close to doing this but my husband encouraged me to go back to exercise, to do something for myself, i forgotten how much fun it was, and getting stronger an leaner was a bonusπŸ’ͺim 53, i started resistance training properly 2 years ago an iv never felt better. Come on ladies ” just do it scared ” here’s to the future of fit woman πŸ’ͺπŸ‘Š

    • @momofboys5620 says:

I’m happy to hear that, I’m 50 and I said to myself, you’re probably going to just fat, but I’m not even eating great nor am I exercising enough, so me thinking that is absolutely silly. I’m scared, that I’m going to try and I’m not going to lose weight. But I love these two women, they’re inspirations. And to hear you started resistance exercises 2 years ago is also an inspiration. Thank you! πŸ₯°

Turning 43 this year, and these ladies are my role models! I’m so happy to see representation of older women who are fitness influencers. It takes much less effort to have a healthy looking and feeling body when we’re young. This is the work. Thank you ladies!

  • @zinaboulahia9291 says:

Wow this woman is bold, strong, and wonderful. Look at her mental energy when she speaks.

  • @petarmitic2722 says:

Itβ€˜s crazy, im a guy in his 30s, but I get much more inspired by u ladies than any jacked hunks on yt, u gurls ROCK! ❀

  • @kimpeats9712 says:

im literally crying right now, thank you for introducing me to this amazing woman, im close to 50, and i have spondylolisthesis! in the same area!!! and contemplating surgery and or a wheelchair…this literally just changed my life, i cannot thank you enough

    • @Jetskibunny says:

I’m 52 this year and had spondylolisthesis as well in the same area. Was told it would get worse had the spinal fusion and it’s the best thing I have every done. Gave me my life back.

  • @kristinej.4182 says:

She is a gem to the female community. She’s so inspiring and positive. Others talk like once you hit 50 or 60 life is over but she makes it sound like it’s just the beginning. How wonderful is that.

    • @Reneefitat70 says:

We have plenty of life left after 50! We just have to go for it!

    • @judiecollins7128 says:

@@Reneefitat70 I started weight training when I was 27. I’m now 73 and still lifting. NO reason to stop!

    • @nicholehobson4990 says:

So glad I found this channel.

    • @Christina-71 says:

The medical community sure doesn’t help that! Once you hit 50 they act like you already have 1 1/2 feet in the grave, I found that so disturbing. I know they have to do the whole spiele you need to go have this test and this test….but it’s still annoying nonetheless.

    • @aspiknf says:

Only an ignorant person would say that life is over once you hit 50 or 60. People will never stop obtaining knowledge every year and every year is supposed to be a journey of knowledge and wisdom. That will continue until you die up until your 80s/90s/100s.

  • @nancydelamadriz7226 says:

I’m so inspired,, tyπŸ˜€I’m 59 turning 60 in August. After a health scare last year I started cutting out sugar, began intermittent fasting and started lifting weights. Now I feel like am ready to go to the next level, you guys are such an inspiration, life is not over at 60πŸ˜€

    • @jodyariewitz7349 says:

Omg, me too!! I’m 52, but I had some pretty serious health issues and I had let myself kinda fall apart. Well I started a keto vegetarian diet/intermittent fasting and within a few weeks my energy had sky rocketed, brain fog and depression lifted and with very little exercise (piyo)I lost almost 30 pounds! I weigh what I did in high school! Now seeing this, I might start exercising too…she looks AMAZING!❀

  • @susanwhittemore6476 says:

I love this as I will be competing in my first bikini competition at 67! She sounds like me, it’s a mindset!!

  • @sandypeters5790 says:
