Very inspiring, I can’t afford the GYM membership but I work out three to four times a week at home. I have 20 pounds to go.
I think it’s harder to work out at home, it takes more discipline, so WELL DONE YOU!! Keep going, I know you’ll get there!! Xx
There are great on line personal trainers from Alllll over the world
and ladies only gyms
so no excuses.
Ladies β€π
Lifting weights is key! But nutrition is also imperative! We need at least 1 g of protein for every pound of body weight every day. If weβre not getting that much, we canβt build muscle and itβs harder to lose fat.
well done. keep at it. measure. figure what works. keep at it
Yes, inspiring; I can afford the gym membership, but not the face lift, fillers, human hair wigs, & implants. But she looks great.
What a great way to start the day! Both Renee and Melissa are inspiring and encouraging. I’m 58 and have been lifting weights for six years and my health is better than when I was in my 30s. I’m thankful for people like Renee and Melissa who keep us motivated. π
Love lots!
I love hearing this! You are giving yourself the best gift ever! Never stop lifting! It is the fountain of youth! I am living proof !πͺπΌπ₯°ππΌ
@Renee Landers….Weight lifting, added to cardio workout, saved my sanity. I too had spinal fusion surgeries (2 of them), lower lumbar. I found my back getting stronger as a result of doing reverse lat pulls: my doc said it was akin to traction, increasing the distance between discs, so they don’t become compressed.
She looks amazing
So much respect for someone over 60+ working out and maintaining. Keeping the body fit isnβt really difficult until over the age of 60. This woman at 71 is incredible and an absolute inspiration π.
I would like to know what supplements she takes for hormones, energy, and sleep …please and thank you …. I can tell she does do injections but what what’s the name of them please??
It starts getting difficult at 50 β¦.but sure it gets harder at 60
Right. 50 is the real threshold. That’s when the big shift happens. After that, it just gets worse, and more hard work, but there’s a major before and after around 50.
Yes, she is an inspiration for flirtatious French skunks everywhere who want to chase and sexually attract cats who look like female skunks for the rest of their lives π
Thanks for sharing this. There is so much negativity around aging. Itβs great to have role models like Renee. Also Ernestine Shepard who still teaches fitness classes and walks miles a day at 86yo, and Josefina Monasterio, a competitive bodybuilder, 77yo on her recent birthday!
I truly need to stop the negative comments about my process of getting older. Thanks for that!

Same!
It usually takes much longer to lose weight over 60 and there is always the stubborn belly and back fat even if weight is 110.
How inspiring!!! Iβm about to turn 60 and just started weight training/cardio/Pilates and adjusting my diet to include more protein and cleaning it up. Itβs women like you that I find so encouraging that at an older age you can still look and feel fabulous. Thank you for sharing your story.
A good rule to follow especially when new to strength training with weights, start out with light weights and higher reps, it takes awhile to condition ligaments and tendons to weight training, slowly add a bit more weight to your workout and bring the reps down a bit, eventually to build muscle around 12 reps would be a good point to stay with, then add a bit more weights as to stay around 12 reps, this is a good range to build some muscle without injuring yourself, advanced trainers wanting strength would drop to around 6 reps, good luck.
And itβs true. Just start. I started by laying on the floor with one pound weights due to neck issues and now Iβm upright with ten pound weights and I intend to keep going.
@Robin Magdahlen…
Same here I have a pinch nerve on my left side of my neck… I would like to know how you use weight to work out?
My concern was not to use them afraid to hurt my injury.
Thanks
Oh my goodness! She is so, so inspiring. Tears came to my eyes when she said, β you are worthy and you deserve itβ wow! Thank you Melissa for bringing this interview to us!
Glad to! Thank you for watching!

Most 71 year olds have cellulite, varicose veins, birth scars, etc. even if they lose weight. So a 1 piece tank suit is recommended.
@@ganymeade5151 thank you so much for your input!
@@ganymeade5151 since Iβm not like most 71-year-olds, I will continue to wear bikinis as long as I feel I am presentable.
I think that we are programmed to just except that we are getting older, that the menopause hits us and we get fatter, i was close to doing this but my husband encouraged me to go back to exercise, to do something for myself, i forgotten how much fun it was, and getting stronger an leaner was a bonusπͺim 53, i started resistance training properly 2 years ago an iv never felt better. Come on ladies ” just do it scared ” here’s to the future of fit woman πͺπ
Iβm happy to hear that, Iβm 50 and I said to myself, youβre probably going to just fat, but Iβm not even eating great nor am I exercising enough, so me thinking that is absolutely silly. Iβm scared, that Iβm going to try and Iβm not going to lose weight. But I love these two women, theyβre inspirations. And to hear you started resistance exercises 2 years ago is also an inspiration. Thank you! π₯°
@@momofboys5620 go for it πͺwhat have you got to lose? Nothing!!!! And everything to gain, good luck β€

Turning 43 this year, and these ladies are my role models! I’m so happy to see representation of older women who are fitness influencers. It takes much less effort to have a healthy looking and feeling body when we’re young. This is the work. Thank you ladies!
Me too. Time to get lifting
βοΈKeep “older” out of your vocabulary please, and instead replace it with “further advanced” in age. π
Wow this woman is bold, strong, and wonderful. Look at her mental energy when she speaks.
Itβs crazy, im a guy in his 30s, but I get much more inspired by u ladies than any jacked hunks on yt, u gurls ROCK! β€
Aww thanks!

im literally crying right now, thank you for introducing me to this amazing woman, im close to 50, and i have spondylolisthesis! in the same area!!! and contemplating surgery and or a wheelchair…this literally just changed my life, i cannot thank you enough
Iβm 52 this year and had spondylolisthesis as well in the same area. Was told it would get worse had the spinal fusion and itβs the best thing I have every done. Gave me my life back.
She is a gem to the female community. Sheβs so inspiring and positive. Others talk like once you hit 50 or 60 life is over but she makes it sound like itβs just the beginning. How wonderful is that.
We have plenty of life left after 50! We just have to go for it!
@@Reneefitat70 I started weight training when I was 27. I’m now 73 and still lifting. NO reason to stop!
So glad I found this channel.
The medical community sure doesn’t help that! Once you hit 50 they act like you already have 1 1/2 feet in the grave, I found that so disturbing. I know they have to do the whole spiele you need to go have this test and this test….but it’s still annoying nonetheless.
Only an ignorant person would say that life is over once you hit 50 or 60. People will never stop obtaining knowledge every year and every year is supposed to be a journey of knowledge and wisdom. That will continue until you die up until your 80s/90s/100s.
Iβm so inspired,, tyπIβm 59 turning 60 in August. After a health scare last year I started cutting out sugar, began intermittent fasting and started lifting weights. Now I feel like am ready to go to the next level, you guys are such an inspiration, life is not over at 60π
Omg, me too!! I’m 52, but I had some pretty serious health issues and I had let myself kinda fall apart. Well I started a keto vegetarian diet/intermittent fasting and within a few weeks my energy had sky rocketed, brain fog and depression lifted and with very little exercise (piyo)I lost almost 30 pounds! I weigh what I did in high school! Now seeing this, I might start exercising too…she looks AMAZING!β€
I love this as I will be competing in my first bikini competition at 67! She sounds like me, itβs a mindset!!
Iβm 75, and Iβve been thinking about getting back to exercising. I was exercising before Covid (bc), but havenβt since. Iβm so happy that I found both of you. I feel so encouraged!! Thank you so much, Iβm going to do it!! ππ₯°π
You go this Sandy! πͺ
Google 92 year young fitness trainer Takishima Mika. Another great inspiration!
Praise the Lord! I’m 62, and she is inspiring me! I’m so glad to see other like-minded women that feel that growing older isn’t a death sentence.πββοΈπ΄ββοΈππββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
Wow….I needed to hear this. 56 recovering from back injury. Lost most my weight 2020 did great until 2022 then my thyroid stopped. Im back up 250. Hear I go again. This gives me motivation
Holy cow Iβm inspired! At 55 and a former Rock climber and a current professional massage therapist, this is just what I needed today!!! WOW! Thank you!!!!
If you still want to climb, I hope you do because it was so much fun.
